We are on the look out for a new CENTRE MANAGER as well as Qualified ECE Teachers to join our team.

CENTRE MANAGER

Leigh Community Preschool is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Centre Manager to lead our team. In this unique role, you will be responsible for leading the preschool staff, managing the day-to-day operations, and driving the strategic direction of the centre. You will work collaboratively with the teaching team, the families, and the committee to provide high-quality early childhood education for our tamariki.

About you

An enthusiastic team-player who takes initiative and is highly motivated and fun-loving will fit well into our little preschool. 

You will show a strong focus on inclusion, recognising and valuing the rich diversity of our tamariki, whānau and local community. Additionally, you will be willing to build an intrinsic understanding of the preschool’s learning and teaching philosophy and pedagogy.

Key skills and experience: 

  • Experience in managing a team (preferably in an early childhood education setting)

  • Understanding of managing the day-to-day operations of a small business 

  • An Aotearoa NZ recognised qualification in early childhood education

  • Current registration with The Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand

  • An in-depth understanding of the current legislation and regulations that guide early learning education and services.

  • A commitment to leading bicultural practice and working with a diverse range of tamariki.

Since we are closed during the MoE school holidays you will get time to recharge during the holidays. 

This is a permanent full-time position based in the small seaside village of Leigh (North Auckland).

QUALIFIED ECE TEACHERS VACANCY (FULL & PART-TIME)

We are looking for qualified ECE teachers to join our lovely team in either a full time or part-time capacity.

Key skills and experience;

  • Be a team player, enthusiastic and fun-loving

  • Be someone who intrinsically understands our teaching philosophy of uninterrupted play-based learning

  • Have demonstrable skills in relationship building

  • Share our commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, informing and leading bicultural practice

  • Have strong capability in planning, assessment and documentation

  • Have a strong focus on inclusiveness, recognising and valuing the rich diversity of the tamariki, whānau and local community

  • Enjoy working directly with our tamariki and love getting your hands dirty

  • Be passionate about nature and committed to sustainability, which you naturally weave in to your teaching and learning experiences with children.
